Time II Change - Take the next step....

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

You have now made the first step to reaching your goal.  Whatever you feel I may be able to help you with, you have already started along the path to realisation. If there is something about your life you'd like to change, now is the time to do it, and I'm sure you will find it a truly rewarding & enlightening experience.
It's easy to think about change and to make resolutions but sometimes we need help in carrying them through. Bad habits/fears etc. become buried in our subconscious mind and it can be difficult to address them and learn something better without help.
I have a practise for Hypnotherapy/Counselling in Peasmarsh and will do home visits should the need arise.  Hypnobirthing - (I trained in The Mongan Method) and have developed an education programme for natural childbirth which can be arranged in classes or on a one-to-one basis at a location best suited to the class.

What is Hypnosis?

Healing by a trance like state, the term "hypnosis" (from the Greek "hypnos", meaning "sleep") became coined around 1840's, although a slightly inaccurate description of the experience.  A reasonable definition might be: "Hypnosis is a state of mind, enhanced by (although not exclusively) mental and physical relaxation, in which our subconscious is able to communicate with our conscious mind".   This state of mind may be brought about either by oneself unaided (self-hypnosis) or, with the help of a trained professional, who utilises the resultant state to encourage beneficial change to occur, the process is referred to as "Hypnotherapy".  Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness. The very normal state of internal focus that we go into several times a day, a little like day dreaming, being engrossed in a book or television, or driving a familiar route, yet not remembering the journey. During hypnosis the body and conscious mind become very relaxed allowing the sub-conscious mind to become receptive to beneficial suggestions. The sub-conscious mind is like our own 'filing cabinet', where we keep all our beliefs, learnt behaviours & habits and so on, to be called upon and used by our conscious mind much like a reflex action, without the conscious thought, hypnosis allows us to access our 'filing cabinet' and change the stored information that is limiting our lifestyle.
Hypnosis has been recognised as an effective therapeutic treatment by the British Medical Association since 1955.

Hypnotherapy is a complimentary therapy and as such may be used alongside medical therapies as long as the medical practitioner is aware and has no objections.
Hypnotherapy is a natural way to treat people without the need for medication. As a Hypnotherapist I can help you to reach your goal and develop new inner strengths, peace and self-control.
Hypnotherapy is healing by trance state, in which the client is totally relaxed in both mind and body.  It is gentle & 100% safe. There are no side-effects other than feeling energised.  The aim is to make you feel comfortable and at ease.
Hypnotherapy may be used for: -
Stress/anxiety
Weight/eating disorders
Phobia's/fears
Low Self-Esteem
Smoking cessation
Pain control
Lack of confidence
Habits
Relationship problems
Childbirth (Hypnobirthing)
And many more....
Popular mis-conceptions:-
You cannot be made to cluck like a chicken or do anything unless you
choose to.
It is impossible to get stuck under hypnosis.
A hypnotherapist cannot make you reveal any secrets or intimate information against your will.
What is it like to be hypnotised?

Hypnosis is a trance like state.
It is a very easy, relaxing way to be treated, you are aware of what is happening, you are not asleep but very pleasantly relaxed. Clients love the feeling this relaxed state gives them, which reduces stress, tension and anxiety.
You are always in control.
You will never do anything against your will.
In trance the client feels deeply relaxed and ready to accept suggestions. Hypnotherapy trance affects heartbeat, respiration and metabolism, they become slowed and brainwave frequencies are similar to the alpha waves found during meditation. During hypnosis the busy conscious mind is encouraged to take a back seat while allowing communication with the subconscious, or inner mind, which becomes more receptive and provides access to powerful inner resources responsible for change.

You can end a session at any time by simply deciding to come out of the hypnotic state.
