Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.
You have now made the first step to reaching your goal. Whatever you feel I may be able to help you with, you have already started along the path to realisation. If there is something about your life you'd like to change, now is the time to do it, and I'm sure you will find it a truly rewarding & enlightening experience.
It's easy to think about change and to make resolutions but sometimes we need help in carrying them through. Bad habits/fears etc. become buried in our subconscious mind and it can be difficult to address them and learn something better without help.
I have a practise for Hypnotherapy/Counselling in Peasmarsh and will do home visits should the need arise. Hypnobirthing - (I trained in The Mongan Method) and have developed an education programme for natural childbirth which can be arranged in classes or on a one-to-one basis at a location best suited to the class.
What is Hypnosis?
Healing by a trance like state, the term "hypnosis" (from the Greek "hypnos", meaning "sleep") became coined around 1840's, although a slightly inaccurate description of the experience. A reasonable definition might be: "Hypnosis is a state of mind, enhanced by (although not exclusively) mental and physical relaxation, in which our subconscious is able to communicate with our conscious mind". This state of mind may be brought about either by oneself unaided (self-hypnosis) or, with the help of a trained professional, who utilises the resultant state to encourage beneficial change to occur, the process is referred to as "Hypnotherapy". Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness. The very normal state of internal focus that we go into several times a day, a little like day dreaming, being engrossed in a book or television, or driving a familiar route, yet not remembering the journey. During hypnosis the body and conscious mind become very relaxed allowing the sub-conscious mind to become receptive to beneficial suggestions. The sub-conscious mind is like our own 'filing cabinet', where we keep all our beliefs, learnt behaviours & habits and so on, to be called upon and used by our conscious mind much like a reflex action, without the conscious thought, hypnosis allows us to access our 'filing cabinet' and change the stored information that is limiting our lifestyle.
Hypnosis has been recognised as an effective therapeutic treatment by the British Medical Association since 1955.
Hypnotherapy is a complimentary therapy and as such may be used alongside medical therapies as long as the medical practitioner is aware and has no objections.
